- Vacuum your carpets regularly with a quality vacuum cleaner, to remove surface dirt and prevent a build up of material that can harm the carpet over time.
- Regularly arrange for a professional clean of your carpets, ensuring that any chemicals or solutions used are patch tested prior to application. We do not recommend the use of dry powder cleaners, which tend to leave a residue in the pile if not adequately extracted by a vacuum method. Dry powder cleaners can leave a mark caused by powder, which remains in the pile and may remove colour if they have not been tested properly on the pile. Cleaning by hot water extraction (Steam Cleaning) can produce excellent results provided that it is carried out by a recommended operator.
- Use protective mats or castors in areas where furniture is moved regularly.
- Promptly clean up any spills to ensure further damage is not incurred.
